C.I Travel Group is a Jersey-based tour operator promoting the Channel Islands as a holiday destination. They came to us with a need to re-design two of their consumer-facing websites, the first selling Jersey holidays and the second selling holidays in Guernsey.
The overarching aim was to improve usability and user experience while remaining true to their existing style. With no mobile solution in place, full device responsiveness was of paramount importance.
The company works with a number of development agencies providing bespoke online booking solutions, and it would therefore be important for us to work with other parties on a partnership basis when developing and implementing the designs.
To better understand and outline the work necessary, we audited the existing websites' usability and user experience. We then reviewed C.I. Travel Group's competitors to ensure that they would be utilising any beneficial features specific to their industry.
We began by wireframing the new website designs and by planning various user journeys. This approach ensures that all possible paths through the website are considered and that usability is prioritised, increasing visit duration. We also introduced new features to improve the user experience, including accommodation filters, travel route maps and an inspiration tool.
We developed two distinct colour schemes, ensuring that the two different websites could stand alone but also benefit from the same new features.
C.I. Travel Group's websites are built by another agency; we worked together to ensure the designs were provided on time and developed as intended. Collaboration meant that the project was delivered on time and within budget: something that we believe is essential to offering a valuable service to our clients.
