As you may have already seen this month, we are a young, active team who try to incorporate fitness into work as much as possible. During 2015 we had yoga classes on our terrace, played in the summer basketball league, went sailing and more (drunken ping pong counts as a sport, right?) Ultimately, our love of health and fitness meant that sponsoring Jersey’s Fittest was something we were happy to do.
Jersey’s Fittest was created to raise money for Les Amis, a local charity that supports people with learning disabilities and associated conditions. The competition encouraged teams of two to sign up and take part in CrossFit style workouts to find the island’s fittest individuals.
In November we headed up to Jersey’s CrossFit gym to catch a glimpse of the two-day event and soak up the atmosphere. We were impressed that the competitors still appeared to be enjoying themselves between challenges including running, rowing and weight lifting.
We were thrilled to offer our design and development services as sponsorship to help raise money for Les Amis. Single page sites are intended to showcase one product, idea or event and as such we decided that this simple approach would be suitable for Jersey’s Fittest. As a single-page, mobile-friendly site the design had to be clean and modern. We utilised quality CrossFit images, created bold call to actions and kept copy to a minimum to ensure a decent user experience.
We succeeded in creating something that fulfilled the client’s main aims of providing users with more information, allowing them to sign up and donate directly to Les Amis. The site sent users to the event’s Race Nation page to sign up and donate and included links to social channels to encourage further engagement. We also incorporated an interactive map as the CrossFit gym is a little tricky to find and a downloadable flyer so the event could easily be shared.
